Dr Lawson was amazing!!!! I went in with issue I had been dealing with for a while. She had me share exactly what was bothering me and took a very thorough medical history. I have an autoimmune problem and so she was very aware of how my body would flare up with too much too soon! I felt relief about 24 hrs after my appointment and it just keeps getting better! The fact she also works on and loves dogs is just an added bonus! Id recommend her to anyone!!!

I’m so thankful to have found Dr. Meg after a few years of dealing with upper back and neck pain after a car accident! My boss recommended her, I was hesitating at first bc I’d never been to a chiropractor before. Once I got there I was very pleased. The atmosphere was homey, yet professional. It made you feel very comfortable and that’s important to me! Doctor Meg is very professional, and very skilled at what she does! After I leave my appointment I feel honestly like a brand new person! If you’re looking for a family chiropractor I’d highly recommend Doctor Meg! She’s the best around in my book! She definitely can get you to feeling your best!

Meg Lawson is a knowledgeable chiropractor. She has helped keep me pain free when other medical professionals wanted to just add more medications to hide the pain. She has gone out of her way to accommodate my needs. She fully understands the body and the cause and effect of misalignment. She spends time educating me on ways to prevent repeating the same misalignments. I would highly recommend her for all chiropractic needs.
She has done a great job keeping her practice safe during these trying times with COVID.

I've been seen by many chiropractors over the last 49 years and I've worked for 3. I am pleased to recommend Dr Lawson as the BEST!! She has more knowledge in many areas than any I've seen and knows which techniques to use and HOW to do them. I'm very impressed with her and will continue to go to her. She has helped my problem that doctors can only throw pain meds at!

I normally use Yelp to scout out places to eat but my experience with this place has been unreal. I had back spasms during midterms and needed to get my back treated immediately. Walking in, Dr. Lawson saw I was in a lot of pain and squeezed me in. No appointment or anything. She is such a sweet lady and so is her desk assistant, Chris. When coming back for follow-up appointments, there is little to no wait time. She also has two friendly dogs who come up to snuggle with you in the waiting area to pass the time. Outstanding place and I plan to continue to come here for the foreseeable future.

Customer Testimonials

Dr. Meg has been a key player in maintaining my health over the last two dozen years, helping through a couple of serious health challenges and keeping me tuned up between those episodes. She stays current on advances in her own and related fields especially nutrition and clearly explains how such info relates to a particular symptom. She always instructs on simple exercises to help maintain the adjustment and which ones to avoid. Most importantly, Dr. Meg is a good multi-modal "listener", paying attention not just with her ears, but with her eyes and her hands to the status of your body and how it responds to treatment. Several friends of various ages also value her work for themselves and their families.

Dr. Meg has competently treated me and my family for 20+ years. She is knowledgeable in many areas including vitamins, supplements, exercises and will not hesitate to refer someone to another healthcare professional if a condition warrants. I appreciate that she does not overcharge in order to lavishly furnish an office. She is conveniently located in a more-than-adequate house/office on Gaines School Road. It is her expertise and care for patients that is important to me.

I’ve been to a lot of the chiropractors here in Athens but I’ve been at Dr. Lawson‘s practice for 5+ years because she offers long-term management not quick fixes at lower costs than most of the other chiropractors. She has a wide knowledge base not just in chiropractic care but alternative therapies for other health issues plus her in-depth knowledge on nutrition and supplements.

Dr. Meg's adjustments are first class and when needed, she suggests exercises to do at home. As a patient, I realize that I have to do my part as well. Also, she is not at all pushy in re-scheduling. I highly recommend Lawson Family Chiropractic.

Suffering from back pain, and migraines, I started going here 3 years ago. I had never been to a chiropractor before, and I am so thankful my first experience with one, was with Dr. Lawson. She is personable, and knows her stuff. She has helped me so much along the years, and I could never thank her enough. The facility is clean, and maintained, and the other staff are warm and welcoming.

I don’t know who Kelly Nguyen is, but she did not show up at Dr. Meg Lawson of Lawson Chiropractic if she said it was in a trailer and dirty. I’ve been going to Dr. Meg for the last 5 years and her office is nice. She is really amazing with her treatment and very good at explaining exactly what is out of place and why your body is experiencing certain pains. She also doesn’t try to sign you up for un-needed treatment. She’s so good that I travel over an hour to get to her office. It’s well worth it! I believe the bad review was from a competitor or a friend of a competitor. Dr. Meg is Great!

I have seen many chiropractors over the years and Dr. Lawson has helped me more already than any other doctor I have been treated by. I feel confident that with her help I will be able to regain so much quality of life and I am so grateful to have found this practice.

From Our Website

We encourage our Patient to achieve the highest levels of health they can. Through educational opportunities (like this website), we hope to communicate the value of ongoing chiropractic care. Our desire is to see our practice members abandon the prevailing sickness care model of health (waiting for symptoms and then taking action), in favor of the emerging wellness model. Dr Lawson has a Master's Degree in Clinical Human Nutrition, includingtraining in Functional Medicine. We provide Nutrition Counseling for weight loss, pain management, fibromyalgia, digestive disorders, gluten sensitivity, sugar control issues, inflammatory disorders, and more.

If you've ever gone to a social event where you didn't know anyone, you know how uncomfortable that can make you feel. Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home. Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it's important that our relationship can go the distance. We've found that one of the best ways to have successful Patient relationships is to explain everything in advance. The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you'll enjoy.

Specific chiropractic spinal adjustments, because they can help restore proper motion and position of individual spinal bones, can help promote proper healing. The longer you wait the more unseen damage there is and the longer it seems to take to recover. Because the nerves to the arms and hands exit the spine through the injured area of the neck, numbness and tingling are common. Even lower back pain can result directly from the trauma, or as a reaction to the loss of proper spinal curves. Whether you've been in an accident, stressed at work, or over-exerted yourself in the garden, your body is constantly adapting to the environment.

At first glance, most people don't see the connection between chiropractic and pregnancy. However, there are four stages in which having an optimally working nervous system can help both mother and child. Chiropractic care prepares the body to be as strong, supple and balanced as possible to carry the pregnancy. Regular chiropractic care during pregnancy appeals to mothers who seek a natural approach to better health. Many rely on chiropractic care to help assure optimum biomechanics of the hips and spine in the hopes of reducing the need for interventions during the birth process.

Repetitive motions (painting the ceiling), postural distortions (falling asleep with your neck twisted) and whiplash injuries from a car accident are physical stresses. So are slips and falls. Even being born! Today's environment constantly assaults us with chemicals. Drugs, preservatives, tobacco, alcohol, pollen and a host of other substances can affect our nervous system and muscle tone. When your body reacts by "tripping a circuit breaker" and causing subluxation, chiropractic care may help.

A common cause of headaches is from spinal bones in the neck that aren't supporting the head properly. You might not notice your reduced ability to turn your head. But these subluxations affect nerves, muscles and even the blood supply to your head. Our thorough examination detects subluxation patterns that could be causing your headaches. If subluxations are present, you're likely to benefit from chiropractic care. Some are surprised to learn that their headaches are being caused by problems in their lower back!
