Services
As one of the largest and oldest massage bodywork facilities in California, Massage Therapy Center Palo Alto has provided excellent professional service to our surrounding communities for 40 years. We pride ourselves in the knowledge and wisdom that touch is an elemental dimension of our human existence and absolutely necessary to enhance the creative, self-organizing healing potential in each one of us.
At Massage Therapy Center, we know that healing and true transformation happen in stillness by tending deep attention to our inner sensate world. We provide a restful place for you to experience the power of skillful touch. Our massage therapists are the best in the area, each personally chosen by our owner, Lucia Miracchi, a somatic therapist and teacher for over 30 years.
Lucia Miracchi, founder and owner of Massage Therapy Center, has contributed significantly to the field of somatic healing arts for 40 years, both as a body therapist and an educator. After years of committed involvement in modern dance, Iyengar yoga, Wu style tai chi, and Insight meditation, Lucia began studying Continuum, an embodiment movement practice, in 1981, with Emilie Conrad and Susan Harper.
Massage bodywork enhances a deeper connection to the healing pathways inherent in the body's tissues and organs in order to enhance wellness throughout. Massage reduces anxiety by decreasing the cortisol stress hormone. It boosts the immune system by facilitating increased blood and lymph circulation, thus aiding in the elimination of metabolic wastes, reducing inflammation, and supporting the body's healing and recovery.

I booked a Clinical Deep Tissue/Trigger Point/Myofascial Release massage but was disappointed that it was clearly a Swedish massage and not deep tissue. I was looking for a true myofascial release but their therapists do not use any specialized tools for this type of massage. I have areas of pain due to muscle tightness/knots, and this didn't address those trouble areas that require extra attention.

Massage place that is not one of those chain locations where the massage is weak, process driven and without real focus on the customer. This is legitimate, with masseuses that are interested in your health and well being and provide an experience that is second to none.

Expert staff, relaxing rooms, adequate amenities. A bit spendy but have always had an excellent experience so worth it. I go for trigger point release, sciatica /bursitis ussues, and tense neck and shoulder. I sit in front of a computer all week and for too long so these sessions help with body aches and pains.

Excellent massage and the therapist listened and found the tightness. Down side, for the premium cost it's a bit dinky. Needs a refresh and the air circulators in the room need to be quieter.

This service-based business had to shut it's doors for many months due to the pandemic, and I was happy to support them now that they are able to operate again. My massage therapist was double masked, and it is protocol that I also keep my mask on during treatment. Ashlynn is an angel! She is strong and able to apply pressure to release tension points while also helping induce deep relaxation. Definitely recommend!

This was my first time there, but disappointed. Although I arrived 10 mins before, By the time I got inside, it was already 5-6 mins past my appointment start time. And then the therapist took another atleast 10 or more mins (right in front of me) to change the sheets and set up the bed with the right props. So the actual massage had definitely not started atleast 15-20 mins in advance but the therapist ended right on time.

So 40 mins of hand work for a 1 hour massage is too less. And this really did not help me to get any relief in general, as there was no time to work on legs that I had asked for.

I had good hopes about MTC, but unfortunately I was let down. I understand the 1 hour massage means ~50-55 minutes of hands-on work, but I was escorted into the room 6 minutes past my appointment time, meanwhile Daniel finished exactly on time. We had a brief consult as well so my massage was very short. Additionally, I told Daniel I'd like most of the attention during my session on my neck and shoulders, but my neck received zero focus. Chronic tension in these areas was the reason for my visit to MTC. I'm disappointed I left with no relief. Other than that, I enjoyed the complimentary sauna and the facility is comfortable.
