Services
The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. A healthy nervous system supports every tissue in your body. Through traditional chiropractic spinal and extremity adjusting we can support a healthy nervous system, which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery.
It is well known that the human body has the ability to heal itself after an injury. My job is to help that process along, reducing pain as quickly as possible and restoring normal motion without restrictions or adhesions. In dealing with pain relief, first I provide gentle chiropractic adjustments to the joints to restore proper motion.
Mobility is the ability to move or be moved freely and easily. As it pertains to our human body, this is any structure that allows or potentially restricts motion. We are dealing with those restricted motions that over time can lead to swelling, decreased range of motion and most importantly pain. When these signs arise, it is most likely that a problem had been persisting for some time. Slowly through repetitions such as improper running, squatting, standing or jumping, this lack of proper motion becomes evident as pain.
It is my goal to educate my patients on the important role nutrition plays in their health. By making small changes in the foods we buy, prepare and eat, we can drastically decrease the amount of systemic inflammation and promote health throughout our body. Obviously with less inflammation, we will have less pain and improved function while potentially healing from injuries in a quicker manner. The best way to start looking at the anti-inflammatory diet is from the perspective of fatty acid balance.

Dr Nick is so approachable, warm, thorough and extremely informative! His practices and approach seemed to be informed by research and science, which i appreciate. I was surprised by how much time he spent with me and how he took care to make sure that I felt heard (that was the general sense I got being around him anyway.) I would definitely recommend reaching out to him if you're looking for a great chiropractic doc. He's also pretty affordable if your insurance is out of network.

So, I'll keep this short (I think). I had a move happen in the middle of trying to figure out some health problems, so I had to go with it and set up a new support system in a new place/start from scratch. I had not been able to successfully figure out the root of the problem and had spent time and money on a number of doctors, types of therapies, etc. Anyway, through working with Dr. Thompson, I have made huge advancements - 1) in figuring out what's wrong (after he listened to my story); and 2) testing new things/continuing to think about what might resolve the issue. So, what I'd like to say is that Dr. Thompson is outstanding as a health practitioner in a way I've found incredibly refreshing - and sadly, lacking in many others: 1) he actually really cares about his patients - he asks about our lives, listens, and spends off-hours thinking about how to help (when I came in for the next appt he always had new suggestions); and 2) he is willing to "be wrong" - in that I mean that he is humble and has been willing to work with me to see what works/what doesn't.

He is solely interested in helping me find well-being, not in being right. Since modern medicine is like 100 years old, his embracing of a simple "let's try what works" approach has cut out the additional headache/effort of having to have complicated communications/listen to intellectualizations that are mostly fancy guesses. He has been such a bright spot who's helped me dramatically improve my physical condition and I'm truly grateful for his help.

What a wonderful experience! Dr. DuBois has a very calming and relaxing presence. He is very thorough and make you comfortable during your visit. Went in for hip and sciatic pain. Pain was greatly reduced and left with a feeling that relaxation. Can't wait to come back, the best experience I've had with a chiropractor.

Dr. Nick has been fundamental in my recovery from two herniated discs and sciatica. He's my motivator, guide, therapist you name it. He treats the patient as a whole. Once you have a pain like sciatica and you experience the pitfalls of more traditional medical treatment, you go through so many emotions. You lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel, you start to think and feel that your current condition will be your forever condition and Nick continually helped me find hope and ultimately see change.

In the beginning, I couldn't walk, stand, sit, drive you name it. His conservative treatment, nutritional guidance, support and exercises are a large part of the reason I can live a life similar to the one I had prior to my back explosion. I couldn't trust another doctor, medical professional or human more. I've seen other doctors and been to other clinics, anytime I question their suggestions I run them past Nick to make sure it's ok, he's my go to. He's an incredible asset to have on your side.

If you want a doctor you can trust, both of the doctors at Maple Chiropractic are amazing, gifted, wise men who are more than capable of building a path to healing for whatever ails you.
