Dr. Jordan Duncan, at Silverdale Sport & Spine, can help most people achieve full recovery with just 6 visits! Using this systematic, logical, evidence-based sequence, we are able to achieve superior outcomes compared to traditional methods. The emphasis on a thorough assessment that helps us understand how your pain responds to postures and movements.
At Silverdale Sport and Spine, we use the McKenzie Method, which does not involve expensive tests, x-rays, or medications. Instead, this method puts you in control of your treatment, with decades of research, evidence, and clinical practice supporting the results. The McKenzie Method, also known as Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, is a method of pain management, self-care, and prevention that involves active patient involvement and education for back, neck, and extremity problems. With the McKenzie approach, you can quickly experience pain relief and live your everyday life again without ongoing chiropractic care.
Plan on arriving to the clinic 15 minutes prior to your first scheduled appointment. Please dress in clothes that will allow you to be able to move around in, since you will likely be moving around during your examination. Your entire first appointment will last about an hour, and will include history taking, the physical examination, clinical decision making, and treatment if warranted.
The term "core stability" is a hot topic and is widely used today. With that popularity, there are many different theories and techniques that clinicians, therapists, and trainers apply in order to improve a client's or patient's stability. Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), however, is not a theory but is centered on the scientific principles of developmental kinesiology.
Movement screens are an important tool to identify and correct imbalances which may lead to inefficient movement or predispose to injury. In addition to treating musculoskeletal pain, a goal of ours is to help people move better. Proper mobility, stability and motor control of the torso and extremities are prerequisites for healthy, pain free movement, and screens allow us to analyze the quality of a patient's movement pattern.

I went in to see Jordan after trying physical therapy and pain shots to relieve the pain (advanced arthritis) in my neck that could severely limit my movement. Jordan explained how his technique is a bit different and he directly targets that area without manipulation - at least I didn't need adjustment for it. We tried several different movements till we found the right one and every time it flares up, I use it and the pain goes away. Recommend 100%!

I came to see Dr. Duncan with neck pain and limited range of motion. I was expecting chiropractic treatments like I have received in the past. From the start I realized he is much different than every other chiropractor I have seen. His goal is not just to pop your back or neck and have you come back every couple weeks, but to actually solve the problem. We began by testing several neck movements, none of which had much effect on my neck pain. It wasn’t until he had me position my neck in a specific way that my pain and range of motion improved significantly, and in a very short period of time. I’m happy I gave him the time to test these, because now I feel like I have the tools to manage my pain in the future.

Went to Dr. Duncan on several occasions for different issues. Using the McKenzie Method, he was able to assess and identify where my pain was originating and guided me through a series of simple 'exercises' which completely corrected my pain. I regret not seeing him first as I was misdiagnosed by other providers who had recommended injections and/or surgeries. Thankful for his expertise!

I made an appointment with Dr. Duncan after a Google search for chiropractor in the area. I am not one to go to chiropractors, but after 2 weeks of a neck and shoulder that hurt with limited mobility I needed help. The first visit he assessed my situation in detail. There was no scary neck cracking or painful massages as I expected. He listened and found the movement that gave some relief. He provided me a plan to perform this stretch with regularity throughout the day. If I am to be honest, the stretch seemed too small to fix my 2 weeks of pain. I left still sore but promising to do what he asked. I had doubts, but was very WRONG! Two days later I was turning my head and carrying my 10 month old with little pain. I saw Dr. Duncan later that week for a followup appointment with my happy news. He gave me another stretch to help with some of the lingering stiffness and said to contact him if I need. I don’t need regular appointments and constant neck adjustments. What I am so happy with is I now have the knowledge to help myself in the future. I am so glad to have found Silverdale Sport and Spine.

A couple months ago I sought out Dr. Duncan from the recommendation of a co-worker. I was experiencing hip pain that was keeping me from deadlifting, and soft tissue treatments weren't cutting it. On the first visit Dr. Duncan determined that my pain was actually coming from my spine, and explained that this is very common in people with hip pain.

On the second visit, as my hip pain was decreasing with the exercise he prescribed, I developed pretty intense pain a little higher up in my lower back. While it was distressing, Dr. Duncan explained that this is a normal occurrence that sometimes happens in conditions requiring spinal intervention. The original exercise didn't help this new pain, but after switching to a different spinal movement this pain began to subside.

A few days later, when this new pain was pretty much gone, I began to experience pain in the center of my lower back. Again, Dr. Duncan explained that this was normal and par for the course. We ended up getting back to the original exercise to take care of this central low back pain, and in a short period of time all the pain was gone. It has remained better for a month and a half, and I am back to deadlifting. While the new pains I experienced were uncomfortable, I was glad I stuck with the process and am now better for it.

On two separate occasions in the last 12 months I've gone to Silverdale Sport & Spine. Once on a weekend during COVID closures I had debilitating back pain- I was able to do a virtual assessment and provided exercises to immediately relieve the pain/discomfort. Dr. Duncan attentively listened to my description of symptoms. The evaluation focused not only on relieving the immediate pain/discomfort but also on identifying the actual source. I was provided realistic adjustments to make to prevent future pain as well as exercises I can do at home.

I went to see Dr. Duncan for ongoing neck and arm pain. Prior to seeing him I had been through treatment after treatment, seeing chiropractors, physical therapists, pain specialists, and even had a surgical consult. Dr. Duncan assessed several neck movements and positions and ended up finding one that abolished my pain. I was able to use that as an exercise, and now 6 months after my last appointment I am still doing great. Highly recommended if you have seen other providers and have yet to find pain relief, although I wish I would have sought him out first!

Being a Labor and Delivery Nurse, I have a very physically demanding job that requires a lot of lifting. This stress on my body left me with several areas of pain over the years. Dr. Duncan was able to determine a few exercises for me to do, and for the first time in a long while pain is no longer a daily struggle for me!

Over the years, no matter what I have had (tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, shoulder pain, shin splints, knee pain, golfer's elbow, hip pain, or sciatica), Dr. Duncan has been able to resolve it. He has probably saved me from at least three surgeries. His assessment process is very thorough, and through it he is able to find the best exercise for my condition. Great care from start to finish, and he gives me tips for prevention which I use to this day.

After injuring my ankle at work 10 months ago, I went to the ER where I was put into a cast. When I came out of the cast no better, I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon who explained to me that the damage I sustained to my ankle would require surgery if I didn't get better with physical therapy. Well. I didn't get better with physical therapy. I wasn't sure where to turn and didn't want surgery because I had already missed enough work when I was in the cast.

I ended up finding Silverdale Sport & Spine and Dr. Duncan. Over the course of a few visits, Dr. Duncan diagnosed my problem and said that for full resolution my condition would require regular performance of a specific ankle exercise. He stated that the exercise should induce my pain every time I did it, but that the pain would get less over time.

After a couple weeks the exercise he prescribed no longer created my ankle pain, just like he said. We increased the intensity of the exercise, and after a while that no longer produced the pain. A month and a half after first seeing him, my ankle no longer hurt, and I was unable to produce the pain with any movement. I was able to go on vacation and walk over 10 miles per day without pain!

I consulted many providers over the past 10 months, and no one figured it out except Dr. Duncan. In hindsight I didn't need to be casted, I didn't need surgery, and I didn't need the stretching and strengthening from physical therapy. What I needed was the exercise specific to my condition. I had no idea a chiropractor could solve this kind of problem. Best pain doctor in Silverdale!

My lower back was injured when my van was totaled in a rear-end collision in 2011. Since then, I have had several months of treatment from each of several chiropractors in the Port Orchard and Silverdale area (Clark, Holt, Button, and Ritchie). While the treatments helped (I could walk for a hundred yards before needing two ibuprofen, instead of taking 45 minutes to put on one sock or needing to drag myself up the stairs by the handrails), I was still taking two ibuprofen every 4-6 hours every day, and prescription pain medicine (muscle relaxants and opioids) if I was going to stand an hour or walk over a half-mile.

When I asked my physician last year if he would refer me for back surgery, he said he had heard very good things about "The McKenzie Method", and wouldn't refer me for surgery as long as I could walk by myself. Two months ago I noticed the "McKenzie Method" statement on the "Silverdale Sports & Spine" sign, and made an appointment. Dr. Duncan Jordan spent well over an hour having me do various tests and exercises, then asked me to do some weird push-ups (like the ones he'd just taught me to do) every hour or two each day until the next visit.

I thought he was a flake. but slept through that night without drugs for the FIRST time since 2011. I did my weird pushups fairly consistently, and only needed ibuprofen a couple of times until the next weekly appointment. He had me do some more tests, and a couple of different exercises during the next appointment, and repeated during the third week.

At the end of the third visit he said he thought if I kept up the exercises, my condition would continue to improve; and he didn't see the need for me to come in on a regular basis unless things deteriorated again. Three $45 visits to NO PAIN! Dr. Duncan Jordan is the only chiropractor who's ever told me "we're done". I highly recommend him!

After a back injury left me barely able to work, I sought out local chiropractor who wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for treatment. I was then referred to Dr. Duncan, and after assessing my movements he gave me a simple exercise to perform throughout the day. Using that exercise I quickly regained my mobility, became pain free, and was able to work again. The incredible part was that the whole thing was conducted though Telehealth, and even though we were several hours apart he was able to guide me from start to finish.
