At Upper Cervical Chiropractic of New York, Dr. George Gertner performs a very specialized form of Upper Cervical Care called NUCCA (National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association). NUCCA is a painless spinal correction procedure that takes pressure off the nervous system and gently restores the skull, spine, and pelvis back to its proper position.
Subluxation is the misalignment of the vertebrae in the spine. These misalignments can happen over time due to genetics, chronic bad posture, or gradually from other injuries that force one side of the body to subtly overcompensate. It can also happen from acute injuries in sports, vehicle collisions, or accidents.
While occasional seasonal allergies can be annoying, they are manageable. Many of the people who come to our office have a much more severe condition, with allergies that last all year long. The body responds to allergens by producing immunoglobin E. These antibodies prompt the production of histamines, which attack different parts of the body and cause an allergic reaction.

I'm a long distance walker that started suffering from severe hip and leg pain. I met UCC at a women's health expo and decided to get help. Within a few months, I noticed that the pain started to subside and I was able to start my walking routine and I added jogging. Thank you so much. It is now a little over two years and I enjoy walking, jogging and going to start bicycling. Again, thank you.

My immediate thought (and conviction) to share about my 11-year-old son being treated by Dr. Gertner, is that I can finally say and believe that in the last 11 years of this winding journey, I was Absolutely divinely guided to Dr. Gertner, and I continue to get affirmations of this. The positives of my experience at Upper Cervical Chiropractic of New York, PC are professionalism, cleanliness, organization, prompt attention to requests, minimal wait time for appointment time, an overall pleasant and attractive atmosphere, and a person - not an automated system - answers your call during business hours. My son has been treated by a Functional Medicine Neurologist - MD, two Doctors of Chiropractic, a Functional Medicine Digestion Specialist, a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition practitioner, a Naturopathic doctor/homeopath, a Pulmonologist - MD, a Neurologist - MD, a Gastroenterologist - MD, and has had many tests conducted since the age of two.
Fast forward. my son finally had a sleep study at the gentle reminding of my husband which revealed that he has CNS (Central Nervous System) Sleep Apnea which is brainstem related. UCC has proven to be THE answer to my son's medical concerns thus far and as of three months of treatment with Dr. Gertner to correct the misalignment in my son's atlas and axis, my son has grown in height [pituitary gland], has had improved sleep [hypothalamus] and his hypothalamus is now able to coordinate controlling his body temperature. Our 1st visit was a Success! After an extensive evaluation Dr. G is able to help my 13 yr old. She suffers from Vertigo Migraines for over 6yrs now. We tried everything. From going to CHOP, Neurologist, PT Therapy, Meds, ER Trips every 8wks. 1 visit and we are already at the root of the problem! Blessed to have such wonderful Doctors who can get to the root of the problem! Feeling THANKFUL

Great professional atmosphere. The doctors are very concise with their explanations and keep you involved throughout the whole process. The office is clean and it seems that everyone who goes there for a visit is happy. The doctors are very good at answering all questions and respond very quickly to questions.

Very professional, clean, welcoming office. Dr. Gertner is outstanding! Explains everything and answers all of your questions! Never heard about this specialized upper cervical chiropractic treatment until my brother told me how it was the only treatment that helped him.you MUST go onto Dr. Gertner's site, and read EVERYTHING! He has been the ONLY one who finally helped me with my leg weakness, tingling in my foot and balance!
I had cervical spine surgery by an excellent doctor, .but Dr. Gertner is getting me back to a NORMAL life! If more people knew about him and his SPECIALTY, a lot of hopelessness would disappear! I decided to try Upper Cervical Chiropractic after my neck and hip pain were not resolved with conventional therapies (Orthopedic care and physical therapy). After X-rays and scans, Dr. Gertner spent some time explaining the results of my tests. He discussed why I was having pain, and how upper cervical adjustment would resolve it. The adjustments are very gentle, but you do feel a difference.
I've been a patient since April, so it was a commitment to put in the time, but now I'm seeing results. My neck pain is just about gone and my hip is 90% better. I've even noticed the tinnitus I've had for years is less severe. Thanks Dr Gertner and staff. You guys are great!

Dr. Gertner and Dr. Walter are both very kind, compassionate, and do their best to help their patients. My mom immeditately felt better. I struggle with EDS and haven't felt relief yet but I understand it is a process and everyone's body is different. Don't feel discouraged if you do not immediately feel better, you may even feel more pain. But it is important to try to stick through the treatments to feel better in the long run.

Can't say enough about Dr. Gertner and the compassionate staff at Upper Cervical Chiropractic of New York. I suffered from violent debilitating vertigo attacks do to Mainers Disease. I came to see Dr. Gertner after experiencing years of pain. I'm only 25 years old and I felt like I was missing out on life due to pain throughout my entire body. Dr. Gertner took x-rays and scans, and explained to me that my upper cervical vertebrae were wildly misplaced, likely due to a car accident I had a few years back. Him and the entire staff of this facility have been so encouraging and kind during my recovery.
I've been getting adjustments for 4 months now and I feel a tremendous difference. The pain has become more manageable and I feel myself healing. My mood, energy, and sinuses have also been a few unexpected improvements. I would recommend this facility to anyone!
