Dr. Stowe's treatments are significantly different than any other chiropractor. If a patient goes to a typical chiropractor, they will probably be asked to return 2-3 times a week for several weeks. Then they will drop to 1-2 times a week for several more weeks, then typically 1 a week for another few weeks. Each time they go to a visit, it is costing them money, time away from their job, school and home, not to mention they are still dealing with their issue for several weeks. We have advanced therapies, designed to find and remove/cure the underlying cause of your symptoms.

Whether you are suffering from an unexpected pain or injury, or if you've been dealing with chronic pain for quite some time, we are the provider you need. Dr. Stowe is equipped to handle a comprehensive range of medical conditions and injuries, chronic pain, and general chiropractic services. We provide advanced spinal correction utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide the level of help and expertise that now exists.

Spring is in the air! The birds are chirping, the trees are blooming, flowers are budding and the days are now longer. That's wonderful, isn't it? Unfortunately for some like myself, when we hear those words our minds focus on months of itchy and burning eyes, sneezing and leaking noses. We're more likely to grab a handful of tissues than a hand full of flowers. We're more likely to stay inside instead of enjoying that game of golf with our friends. Hay fever erupts this time of year. Millions of us suffer from this condition, which causes the body to become hypersensitive to pollen and other substances.

Shallow breathing, pounding heart, body feels clammy, chest is tight; anxiety running through knowing that you can't sleep, yet again. You dread night time, knowing that you "have" to sleep but you won't. Chronic insomnia is no joking matter. It's exhausting, mentally and physically and quite frankly it is torture. A recent paper published in the Journal of Sleep Medicine & Disorders suggests that some insomnia cases could be caused by complex chemical interactions in the brain resulting from subluxation.

To start I want to break down, quickly, the difference between the two practices. Functional medicine focuses on finding the "root cause" by looking at the individuals symptoms and then searching for the cellular dysfunction in their body; it is individually customized. Conventional medicine looks at the symptoms only to find a disease and then immediately begin a treatment plan for that disease, which more often than not consists of prescription medications. They want to know your history, but not much about you as a person, your lifestyle, your daily routine, your diet, your stress levels, etc.

Arriving at a doctors office for the first time can be a nerve racking experience. Paperwork to fill out, new faces and names to learn, and getting to know your way around the office; this can hit the senses all the at same time causing overload. In contrast, West U Chiropractic is a VIP chiropractic care center. You won't find yourself sitting in a waiting room, surrounded by other patients, wondering if you will be seen soon; you will not be rushed out of the office. You, the patient, are our priority and our aim is to remove any stressor causing unnecessary tension and to make you feel comfortable.

While acute pain is a normal sensation triggered in the nervous system to alert you to possible injury and the need to take care of yourself, chronic pain is different. Chronic pain persists. Pain signals keep firing in the nervous system for weeks, months, even years. There may have been an initial mishap - sprained back, serious infection, or there may be an ongoing cause of pain - arthritis, cancer, ear infection, but some people suffer chronic pain in the absence of any past injury or evidence of body damage.

You don't have to be an athlete to benefit from regular chiropractic visits, but since Houston Sports have been so much fun lately and we are focusing on athletes we'll start by giving you an idea on just a few (3) of the ways visiting a chiropractor regularly will increase your performance and overall make you feel better before, after and during your game. Before I start, let's think about professional athletes for a minute. Athletic performance is affected by a combination of strength, flexibility, speed and coordination.
