Active Release Techniques
Active Release Techniques (ART) is a patented soft tissue system treating muscle, tendon, and nerve conditions. This evidence-based method resolves injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatica through targeted adhesion release. Our certified providers use 500 specialized protocols to address athletic and workplace injuries effectively.
Functional Rehabilitation
Our functional rehabilitation programs bridge patient capabilities with personal goals. We develop customized plans addressing specific limitations like difficulty with daily activities or sports performance. Treatment focuses on measurable outcomes including improved mobility and pain-free movement during daily tasks.
McKenzie Method
McKenzie Method disc therapy classifies spinal disorders through movement assessment. This approach effectively treats disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, and spinal stenosis. Our practitioners use repeated loading maneuvers to identify and resolve the mechanical causes of back and leg pain.
Dry Needling
Dry needling targets musculoskeletal pain sources using thin filament needles. This technique reduces muscle tension, improves blood flow, and modulates nervous system sensitivity. Our providers use distinct strategies for acute injuries and chronic pain conditions to accelerate healing and restore function.
Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization
DNS rehabilitation restores locomotor function using principles from the Prague School of Rehabilitation. This approach addresses movement dysfunction through neurodevelopmental assessment and stabilization techniques. Treatment integrates postural control programs to improve coordination and movement patterns for chronic pain sufferers.

Dr. Van Matre has magical hands! I have been struggling with very frustrating leg pain for a few years now. After just 3 quick visits, I am 80% cured. Additionally, this practice is very punctual. I have never waited in the lobby for more than 5 minutes. If you have any discomfort or pain and are seeking quick relief, this is your sign to go see if Dr. Van Matre can make it disappear like he did mine!

I was signed up for the Monumental Half Marathon and could only run 4-5 miles because the pain in my backside was to a point that I couldn't run through. I had put off seeking treatment and was afraid my running days were coming to an end but, before I retired my running shoes, I decided to make an appt. with Brian. He came highly recommended and, after doing some research, I decided he would be the best person to get me back to doing what I enjoy.
He is amazing and did not disappoint. I had 3 sessions prior to the race and, not only was I able to run the entire 13.1 miles that I was way under trained for, I ran it pain free and remained pain free afterwards. His approach is great and he provided me techniques to do on my own. I'm still running thanks to you Brian, you are worth the drive from Muncie!

Incredible. Four months of trying to recover from throwing out my back and two visits with Brian and I am almost back to full strength. Best part of all, he doesn't need to see me again. He gave me great instruction on what things to do to maintain. No 3-month care plan and thousands of dollars.

I've never had serious back issues before and after multiple visits to a physical therapist and chiropractor, a friend recommended Indy Spine with Brian. I saw him bi-weekly for about two months. I appreciated his specific yet challenging plan for me and I liked his active recovery approach. I would recommend seeing him for any back issues especially if you're an active athlete looking to return to sport ASAP.

Brian Watters is a miracle worker. I went from barely being able to walk and in pain all day, to running and jumping with no pain at all- and it only took two visits. I was in and out in 20 minutes. Definitely recommend- go see him and don't let an injury linger!
