Family-run and family-oriented, our practice delivers drug-free health care solutions to patients from a few hours old to over 100 years young.Lakeland Chiropractors Dr. Scottie Ison and Dr. Alex Ison are a father-and-son team who take the time to truly listen to each patient and strive to help them achieve their health goals efficiently and effectively.Dr. Scottie opened the practice in 1979, after receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the National University of Health Sciences outside Chicago.

Dr. Scottie started Cleveland Heights Chiropractic Clinic in 1979. For years, he was the sole practitioner at our chiropractic care center until his son, Dr. Alex, graduated from chiropractic college and joined the practice. Rounding out our family-oriented team, Dr. Alex's wife, Alyss, is our office manager, and Dr. Scottie's wife, Maryclaire, assists with some of those duties.

Even as a small child, the idea of working in the medical field appealed to Dr. Scottie. Maybe it was the subtle yet ever-present urging from his mother; maybe it was a desire to help people like his mom, who suffered from back pain. His family made the move to Lakeland from Indiana in 1970. He first attended Polk Community College, followed by Florida Southern College, where he studied basic sciences and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.After much careful consideration, he applied to National University of Health Sciences outside of Chicago.
